Nixon and Kennedy Set to Debate

The 1960 US Presidential Election will be a heated and fiercely contested one.
Vice President Richard M Nixon the Republican Candidate for President and Senator John F Kennedy of Massachusetts the Democratic Candidate for President will both square off in a televised debate next month as they both announced today.
The focus of the debate will be on the cold war and civil rights.
Many political analysts consider Kennedy winning the Presidency a long shot let alone beating the distinguished and experienced Vice President Nixon in the debates. Only the TV audience will decide. Tune in live next month on CBS Television to see who has what it takes to become leader of the free world and stand up to Nikita Kruschev and the red menace .

BEATLES TO RECORD SHOW AT HOLLYWOOD BOWL ON AUG 23RD 1964

Capitol Records will record current leading British Beat Sensations The Beatles at their upcoming concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, CA. Capitol wanted to record The Beatles at a show earlier this year at Carnagie Hall but couldn't get permission because of some restrictions by The British Musicians Union. They have however received permission a couple of months back, George Martin thier producer {Peter Sellers, The Goons} will be flying to LA from London next week to handle the recording session.
This will be The Beatles first record recorded in The US. The group is still undecided on a title for the LP nor do they have a release date for the record yet.
It is still undecided whether or not The Beatles will last. Many people think by this time next year they will be yesterday's news and another shaggy haired beat group will have taken their place as the new musical faces for 1965.
We at The Sixties Show think they are the gear and hope they stay around for a few more years!!
